It's October! The month of Halloween, pumpkin spice everything and me failing at Inktober.

But first lets get some things out of the way:

• Extensive studies have shown that I suck at Inktober. And by extensive studies I mean I tried it twice and I still have unfinished sketches. So I will not be attempting to do all of them....the timing and order might get wibbly wobbly as well.
• To my shame I only know two Ayreon albums and random songs from the rest so I am planning on only doing Avantasia. If along the way I get ideas for something Ayreon I'll throw it in.
• I'm doing this cause I'm procrastinating on a bigger project. If this gets abandoned, rejoyce! I'm probably working on what I should be working on this month....or am procrastinating on my procrastination.

Favourite Avantasia album

Oh, ya, I'm starting with a cheat. Let me explain:

I've been scratching my head all morning trying to figure out how to decide which of the albums is my favourite. Eventually decided I can't so I figured whichever one I get a drawing idea for it is. Then my brain got stuck on just wanting to do a version of the album cover art but I did not want to do that. 

The I remembered this piece! I drew this the evening I got my copy of Moonglow. My idea was to make a small drawing for each song, a sort of graphical review if you please. So I wrote the title of the first song at the top right of my page and put on the album....and this happened. I forgot I wanted to do a separate drawing for each and instead I drew this based on the imagery of each song as they went by. So while I can't really pick a favourite this is probably going to remain the most raw and honest representation of an album that I can get.

That being said I do have sketches and general ideas for the next Avantasia prompts.

Favourite Avantasia Protagonist

Here's the deal:

• I'm too lazy to scan it.
• As with the last one I can't really pick a favourite...well I can...it's Scarecrow. But I had this idea for the protagonist of Moonglow so I went with that.
• Took inspiration from the Son of Man by Rene Magritte for the main composition. It really fits with the character and the story. Also, in the background there was a calm water but on the album waves I referenced so I figured I'd go for a poorly drawn black and white version of The Great Wave of Kanagawa by Katsushika Hokusai.
